两者都可作“在…名单上”解。其区别仅在于in the list of是英式英语,而on the list of是美式英语。

list, catalogue, roll, table

这几个词都有“表”“单”“册”的意思。其区别在于:catalogue是按字母顺序或其他方法排列的;而list则仅指列表,有时不必有严格的顺序;roll指人的花名册,尤指属于团体或军事单位的全体人员名册;table指便于迅速查阅的目录、表格。例如:

list, catalogue, enroll, record, register

这两个词都有“记录”的意思。其区别在于:

1.record指对事件或情况的记载; register指正式的或官方的登记或注册。例如:

Some records of ancient civilization were discovered recently.最近发现了一些古代文明的史料。

By law we are required to keep a register of births and deaths.法律要求我们对出生和死亡进行登记。

2.record还有“履历”的意思,而register则没有此义。例如:

The commander had an outstanding record in leading the army against the enemy.指挥官率领抗敌,功勋卓著。

list，catalog(ue)，register，roll，schedule，table，chart，form

这些名词均含“名单、目录、表格”之意。

list最普通用词，含义广。指按字母顺序、时间先后或类别等排列的姓名或项目等的单子。

catalog(ue)指列出有全名、物名或项目等的目录，有时指附有简要说明的分类名单或一览表。

register多指官方对人或事作出的正式书面记录或详细清单。

roll多指人员的姓名名单，尤指属于团体或军事单位的全体人员名单。

schedule既可指时间或计划的安排表，又可指详细列出的所有分类项的清单或细表。

table普通用词，一般指易于迅速查阅使用，具有特定编排方法的目录或表格。

chart指把资料制成表格等形式供人看的图表。

form指上面印有横线或格让人填写规定内容的表格。
